Roadtrip 2016 Fall: Vancouver - Yakima - Bend - John Day River - Port Orford - Florence - Seaside - Vancouver

Day 17 - China Mountain, Cape Blanco

Little known coastal giraffes forage through the pickings of a logging site on China Mountain.

It's a pretty clear cut.

The very gorgeous and historic Hughes House, with sheeps ashore in the front yard.

Yes, yes. Rules and Regulations. Get on with it!

Today's hike features beautifully maintained (by the local sheep) Lower Middle Earth Path Lawns. Emma loves path lawns.

The sheep have installed these complicated gates to keep us amused.

Another beautifully placed specimen tossed from the undersea garden.

At the far end of the path lawn is our new secret beach. Not a soul on it other than us.

Maybe a Bernd and Hilla typology approach could be taken to these organic wonders.

Up on the hill is the World Famous Cape Blanco Light. The waves in this bay are nuts.

Seemed it was trying to muster a half a smile - or getting ready for Halloween.

Our return route. We think it's a loop, but we don't know for sure - there are no maps of the path lawns around here.

We're about to discover this ain't no loop. But the way back yields even more grass paths.

Path lawns should be installed everywhere.

The local Port Orford fish shop stares back across the parking lot.
